Cougars Elite Tryouts Information


Tryout Dates and Times:

  • 8U Tournament Team – TBD
  • 9U & 10U – Saturday August 13 and Sunday August 21 1pm -3pm at Grace and Truth
  • 11U &12U – Sunday August 20 and 21,1:00-3:00 PM at Grace and Truth
  • 13U Players must register and send email to to set up small group or individual tryouts prior to August 26. Upon returning from cooperstown players invited to move on to the next step of selection process will be asked to return to a final tryout on Saturday, September 10th, 2-4. Grace and Truth.
  • 14U & 15U – 08/7 and 8/14 from 2-4pm Brockport College
  • 17U – 08/7 and 8/14 from 2-4pm Brockport College

12U plays well in Tennesee

The Rochester Cougars Elite Baseball Team, comprised of Rochester area 12 year olds, traveled to Pigeon Forge, TN over the July 4 th Holiday to play at the new $23M Cal Ripken Facility that opened this earlier this year and represented Rochester area baseball in tremendous fashion. The Cougars competed against 24 other teams in the “8 State Battle Tournament.” In pool play they were challenged by teams from Baton Rouge, LA; Mason, Ohio; Chicago, Illinois & Houston, Texas finishing 3-1 and advancing to the Gold Bracket Championship pool.

12U plays strong at Darien Lake

The Rochester Cougars Elite would like to congratulate the 12u Cougars for a outstanding performance at the Darien Lake baseball tournament from June 10-12, 2016. The Darien Lake tournament brings together  top teams from across Upstate NY and Canada.  Pool Play started friday with a well earned victory over a tough West Seneca Wolverines team.  The 12u Cougars continued there strong pool play on Saturday with 2 more victories against the Great Lake Gators and Brampton Royals. Darien Lake 12USunday playoffs began vs the always tough and well coached Utica Hurricanes. The 12u Cougars prevailed 7-4.  The Semi-Finals brought a matchup vs the Batavia Muckdogs.  The 12u Cougars jumped out too a quick lead and never looked back winning 17-1. The championship game brought together a familiar foe in North Tonawanda Americans. In a back and fourth game with strong winds making the teams feel like they were playing in Wrigley field the Cougars prevailed 20-15.  Congrats boys!

9u Cougars Elite Win WNY Boys of Summer kick off Tournament

In the 2015 Jr. Lancer Classic the U9 Rochester Cougars jumped out to an early lead on the Hamburg Dawgs scoring 7 unanswered runs in the first three innings. With great pitching performances by Ryan Maxwell, Derek Allen, Wil Wandersleben, & Landon Scott who combined for just 3 allowed runs over 6 innings, and outstanding offensive effort by both Carl Palma & Sean Mayo who combined for 6RBI’s on 4 hits. The Cougars great defense and relentless hitting gave them the championship by a score of 10-3.

Cougars Elite 12U Captures Three-Peat Championship

With a 6-3 victory over the West Seneca Warriors, the Rochester Cougars Elite earned its third Thruway League Championship in as many years.

The Cougars had strong pitching from Keeghan Cummings who kept the Warriors to only one hit and from Braden Consaul. Key hits came from Cummings, Jaden Madrid, James Capellupo, Zach Allen, and a solo home run from Jack Zawacki.

The Thruway League’s top four division teams in 2016 were the Cougars, followed by the Warriors, the North Tonawanda Americans, and the Clarence Stampede.


9U wins Rochester Baseball Classic!

After going undefeated in pool and winning a close semi-finals game against the Finger Lakes Falcons the U9 Cougars Elite went on to win the Rochester Baseball Classic with outstanding pitching efforts from Quentin Grimes and Derek Allen who combined to throw a no-hitter for Elite Cougars 9U in a 12-0 victory over Baldwinsville Swarm with the help of some outstanding errorless defense behind them over five innings. Quentin held Baldwinsville hitless over four innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out four. The Cougars bashed their way to victory after racking up 13 hits and a game ending bases clearing grand slam from Wil Wandersleben.

Cougars Elite 12U Win CUSE Classic

The Rochester Cougars Elite 12U team went 6-0 and took home the 2016 Homerun Baseball Summer CUSE Classic Championship. The Cougars defeated teams from across New York state, including the Victory Bulldogs (Watertown) in the semifinals and the Syracuse Jr. Sky Chiefs in the championship game.12USyracuseChampions

During Sunday’s quarterfinal game against Team PAC (Rochester), James Capellupo hit a 2-run walkoff homerun to win the game and advance to the next round. The semifinal game witnessed strong hitting and defense from the entire team, with impressive pitching from Braden Consaul and Nick Provenzano. In the championship game, the Cougars defeated the Sky Chiefs 11-1 and was a terrific all-around team effort led by pitcher Keeghan Cummings.
